Spider Computer: A Cloud Based Computer With Virtual Keyboard & Projected Screen

Many of you might be aware of the cloud computing concept in which the data is stored not in your local storage device but a ‘cloud’ which is a server holding all your information. You do not need hard drive or any other storage form within your computer rather you just need a high speed connection to access all your data from the cloud.

Utilizing the advantage of not having a local storage device, Nikolaus Frank has created a special new type of computer which is just a projecting device that provides you with projected display and a virtual keyboard with no other hardware needed. See the image below:

The Spider computer is essentially a telescope with a 3-leg stand. Place it anywhere to start using your computer. The head contains a mirror to project the screen onto a wall or desk. An infrared source provides you with a virtual keyboard on the desk, much like a physical keyboard.

The computer can also be operated as a mobile phone for receiving calls and sending text messages. And it’s not bigger than a normal smartphone and can be placed into the pocket.
